On March 18, 2013,  40-year-old Andre Murphy, a former police officer, arrived at his ex-wife Dr. Catina Murphy's Desoto, tx home and kicked in the front door as she pleaded with 911 officers to send help fast. Police said the man then ran upstairs and shot the 37-year-old woman several times before apparently turning the gun on himself. None of Catina's family nor Friends knew she was silently suffering from domestic violence and worse, Catina's 7 year old daughter was left without a mother or a father to navigate the world alone.
